Rebecca had been lying on her bed in the dark for what seemed like a good 10 minutes before she heard Mark’s footsteps on the stairs. She had shut off her laptop, and lit two candles on her nightstand. Beside them was a long strip of leather that she had pulled from her journal, a condom, and the polka-dot panties she had been wearing.
